On the Horizon for Apple

As August 7th begins to draw ever closer, speculation continues to fly all over the usual rumor sites. With MacWorld and other Apple discussion sites confirming that Apple’s planned a Mac-focused media event of some sort for this coming Tuesday, most of the hype has centered around the long-rumoured iMac refresh; along with an accompanying keyboard change.

Given that the iMacs have gone without an overhaul for close to a year now - MacRumors puts it at 334 days as of this posting - it would be foolish to expect this “Mac related” announcement to focus upon other parts of the Apple lineup. The MacBook and MacBook Pro have already had a refresh a little over a month ago, and all of the recent buzz has been about a brushed-alumnium, even-slimmer, iMac revision.

Of course, as is the norm these days, in the past few hours, what appear to be fake images have begun cropping up all over the internet - the below the most recent.

Additionally, some tool apparently thought it was funny to try and dupe a few news sites by assuming a phony persona; that of a Google exec, to be exact. While he promised nifty refreshes to what appears to be a languishing Mac Mini lineup, as well as a few other notes, his credibility is little to none, which has resulted in most of his claims being discounted as crap.
